A little support.
More room
to grow.

We’re building a tutoring scholarship fund for students in foster care—so educational support can meet them where they are.

Steady support.
New possibilities.

WHY WE’RE BUILDING THIS

Learning deserves
a place in the plan.

Foster Scholarship Fund is a newly formed Texas nonprofit corporation focused on educational scholarships and support for K–12 students, initially children in foster care.

Our proposed first step is a local tutoring pilot. We’re designing a clear process for authorized adults, careful review of requests, and direct payments to independent tutoring providers.

STARTING SMALL, WITH CARE

A local tutoring pilot.

The program below is proposed for board adoption. Funding, final policies, and operational readiness will determine when it opens.

01

Who it would serve

K–12 students currently in foster care who reside in Lubbock County, Texas, and have an educational need tutoring can address.

02

What it would support

Tutoring through approved independent providers, with a proposed annual limit of $1,000 per student, subject to need and available funds.

03

How funds would move

The fund would pay providers directly for approved tutoring. A request would not guarantee eligibility, an award, or a payment.

FROM QUESTION TO SUPPORT

Clear steps.
Thoughtful decisions.

We’re preparing the process before accepting applications or making awards.

  1. 1

    Start with an introduction

An authorized adult would share basic contact information and general interest. This would not be a full scholarship application.

  2. 2

    Apply when the program opens

A later secure application would request the minimum information needed to assess authority, eligibility, and educational need.

  3. 3

    Receive a reviewed decision

Requests would follow adopted criteria, independent review, available funding, and written award conditions.

BEFORE THE NEXT STEP

A few useful answers.

Are applications open?

No. The fund is preparing its proposed program, governance, and operations. This information site includes a fictional demonstration form; real applications are not open.

Is the fund recognized as a 501(c)(3)?

Not yet. Foster Scholarship Fund is a Texas nonprofit corporation with an EIN. Its full IRS Form 1023 is being prepared; federal tax-exempt recognition has not been granted.

Do donations qualify for a scholarship tax credit?

No scholarship tax-credit eligibility is being represented. SGO qualification is separate from IRS 501(c)(3) recognition. This website does not accept donations.

Is this Gethsemane Foster Initiative?

No. Foster Scholarship Fund is a separate Texas nonprofit corporation. Its own board governs its work, records, and funds.

Does an interest form guarantee help?

No. A future interest form would be an introduction only. Eligibility, funding, and any award would require a separate application and review under adopted policies.

Privacy on this site

The form runs only in this page’s temporary memory. It sends no form data to the server, email, Monday, or the staff workspace, and does not store entries in browser storage. It uses a fixed fictional contact and does not create a live interest list. No child records or uploads are requested. Hosting and account access may generate ordinary security logs. A live form will need its own reviewed privacy notice, consent, retention rules, and secure receiving process before launch.
